As you can see here I decided against the three large panel comics that I was so gun-ho about in earlier posts. I just think this way the flow seems more interesting and gives more information than one full page of three large panels. You can see for yourself on the pages link.
This was quite a fruitful and stressful weekend involving the water color adventure as you saw below I blundered with the paint brush. This time I involved myself with a little too much frisket and ended up cursing at my work. This was heart breaking as I slowly ripped my work and I was so tempted to just say forget this piece I need a do over. Then Ashley convinced me to keep it and work with it. Honestly, she has taught me a lot about "going with it" and I am not going to stop water coloring. All I know is I have learned a couple of things: scan your line work (which I didn't in the first piece that's why this work is a bit different), don't throw out your efforts, don't use cheap-o frisket, and, finally, the most important DON'T GIVE UP!
So this was an attempt at water coloring my chapter one cover. I re-drew it and started to color. Everything was going to how I wanted it to go but then I dropped my brush and that is when the chaos erupted. I decided to fix it by adding swirls but the swirls spiraled out of control. Then I got frustrated and well I will be doing this again.
It's just so interesting to see how much progress you've made in a year or so. I enjoy finding old art and saying to myself "wow you've learned so much." Art is a journey and trials if you don't like what you got try and try until it comes out the way you want it.
