Above is a the current Defensive Scout Uniform. Of course the only logical counter to an Offensive Scout is a Defensive Scout. Their duty is capturing any Offensive Scouts but more importantly stopping the opposing Copper from finding the Hytracop. Defensive Scouts are armed with net guns. Once when they capture an enemy, one defensive scout can guard the jail while the others continue to patrol the area for other intruders. Another job they have is to break out their own team mates from out of jail.
The picture above is a Offensive Scout current uniform. As you can see there are a couple of differences between their uniform and the Coppers' uniform. The Offensive Scouts job pretty much involves being in the enemies territory for the majority of the game. Their task involves keeping the opposing teams defense away from their Copper. Offense Scouts are most known for their foul-play. They are not allowed to touch defensive scouts but booby traps, communication jams, and impersonations are "fair" game. In short, the best Offensive Scouts can push the limits of their rules. They can also track the Hytracop and they keep close contact with their teams Copper.
The picture above is an example of the current Copper Uniform. The Copper is arguably the most important player on the team. The Copper is the only one that can touch the Hytracop. A Copper is trained to handle a Hytracop well enough to ride on it. Once a Hytracop has crossed a peace line with a Copper on its' back, the game has been won! A Copper is sought after by the other teams Defensive Scouts. A good Copper is as difficult to find as the Hytracop itself. If a Copper is caught they cannot be broken out of jail by regular means (one tag by their defensive scout). It takes three tags from three different scouts.
A Copper is known for their tiny size and quick speeds. The recruiters measure each flack trying out. Any player taller than a certain measurement cannot become a Copper and is barred from try outs that season. This is a safe guard before any sized flack could be a Copper and either they were injuring the Copper (accidentally or on purpose) due to their size or they would get injured themselves by the low hanging brush or tree branches. Additionally, smaller sized flacks don't intimidate the Hytracop as much as a larger flack does. A note on their uniform. They are wearing a crystaline mesh body suit that protects them from any kicks from the Hytracops' hooves. Also, if they are thrown off or crash their head into branches they have a helmet that sports their color and their tribal symbol. On their paws they sport tough creature hide for their gloves and on the gloves are tracking devices for the viewers of this sport. Attached to their belt is a communication device in which they speak to their offensive scouts who are in charge of finding the Hytracop and sabotaging the opposing teams defensive scouts. Their boots are meant to mimic the silence of the Hytracops' hooves. This sport was actually created by another talented artist Ashley Kenawell and she gave it to me as a wonderful gift. It's a fantastic and interesting sport and I hope to do it justice. Now onto the actually explanation of it.
The sport Cadderwall was invented by Outlanders to unite the many different flacks who were banished, abandoned, or for many other reasons live there. It is impossible to say when this sport was invented. Flacks are long lived creatures compared to human beings. Just like humans flacks are full of pride, traditions, and story telling. When you ask a flack from any of the regions, there is a different tale of the origins of Cadderwall. It has taken many seasons (The planet Andeon's orbital period around their stars) for this sport to become as developed as it is currently. This sport was originally a hunting challenge but the idea was later scrapped due to a large amount of injuries and deaths. The Hytracop is the main focal point of the sport. What is a Hytracop you ask? A Hytracop is an elusive creature that according to legends originated from the blessed crystal mud of the Outlands.
Hytracops are known for their uncanny ability to stay hidden because their fur is made of reflective fibers to help them camouflage in any type of terrain. Their hooves are also developed to be as silent as possible to remain hidden in the dangerous Outlands where any creature will make it into a meal. They learn when they are young creatures through instinct and guidance from their guardians to avoid anything in the terrain that would give their location away. They have been nicknamed as "The Silent Traveler". When you threaten this creature they go onto their hind legs and display their serrated sharp needle-like hooves that can tear through just about anything. How do the flacks find these elusive creatures? Originally, an Engineer from the Outlands was creating a thermal device to help locate more food for their tribe when they stumbled upon this creature. Flacks over the years have learned to locate them via hoove tracks, scents, and more updated thermal devices, so the sport can be played more frequently. Before tranquilizers it took about 4 flacks to hold it down to paint their ears and tails to help spot them. Now they use a tranquilizing cannon to paint this creature. There has been many attempts of domestication but still to this day there has been no signs of success. The sport itself is still a quite a dangerous one due to it being a very loose-just about anything goes type of sport. Now there is a lot of pride and bragging rights attached to this game so it could be thought to be more dangerous than it originally was. |
